Using the Potting Mix layout from Amy Friend's most recent book, Petal + Stem, we will explore a more modern look for our floral quilts, using only two fabrics to create silhouettes. The petal and stem designs are modern, asymmetrical, and angular. Adding the minimal two color fabric really creates a more modern design. Participants will be able to design their own quilt tops, mixing and matching blocks within the established layouts. Foundation paper pieced blocks will be categorized as to complexity so that beginners can find doable blocks and more advanced participants and be challenged.
