We have over 40,000 square feet of space, all on one level, no stairs or ramps or tarp-covered floors.   Plenty of surface parking is available surrounding the building (fairgrounds parking fee is $8.00 per vehicle). Concession stand located inside the building. ATM in the lobby. Larger vendor booths. More space for more quilts, demos, and other features. Easy access off 38th St and Fall Creek Parkway.

Stop by the show to see this year's Opportunity Quilt, "Belfast Market." Raffle tickets to win this quilt are $1 each or six (6) for $5 and will be available at the show.

QGI members interested in selling tickets can pick up a package at any meeting. The drawing will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at the regular evening QGI meeting. If you love the quilt and want to make your own, we'll also be selling the pattern for $10 at the show and QGI meetings.

The quilt was designed by Jennifer Fulton, fabric choices by Elizabeth Meek, blocks created by QGI past presidents and assembled by Elizabeth Meek and Mary Strinka. It was quilted by Cathy Franks with binding by Suzie Wetzel and label by Rhonda Bieda.

The quilt would make a nice gift for yourself or others. Please stop by to see us and get your ticket.

 FEATURED QUILTER

CYNDIA GERNER

Cyndia has been a secretary, a nurse, an adjunct pre-school teacher, a sales person in a quilt store, and a professional long arm quilter for hire. She is a wife, a Mom and a Gramma.  She started her first quilt in 1971. Her exhibit will feature many of her quilts from across the decades.

Most recently Cyndia has had quilts juried into the International Quilt Festival shows in Houston and Chicago.   She has also had her quilts at AQS Paducah, MQS, and Quilt America. She has also won a number of ribbons at QGI quilt shows, but she says that two of her favorite ribbons were viewer’s choice awards – because it means her peers really liked them.

Cyndia also has incredible storytelling talent, and in addition to sharing her lifetime of quilt creations, she will also have two short lectures during the show.   You’ll be sure to be both enlightened and entertained and you’ll be enriched to meet this very special lady face to face.
